€15,000.00Price

DesignCharles & Ray Eames, 1948
Fiberglass, steel supports, oak base
Made in Germany by Vitra
Produced in Fiberglass between 1991 and 2002

Charles and Ray Eames designed La Chaise in 1948 for a Museum of Modern Art competition. But it is only since 1991 that Vitra has been manufacturing small quantities of the design in serial production. La Chaise is suitable for both sitting and lying on. Its organic shape was inspired by "Floating Figure", a sculpture by Gaston Lachaise.

With a grand sense of adventure, Charles and Ray Eames turned their curiosity and boundless enthusiasm into creations that established them as a truly great husband-and-wife design team. Their unique synergy led to a whole new look in furniture. Lean and modern. Playful and functional. Sleek, sophisticated, and beautifully simple. That was and is the "Eames look."
